Former FBI Director Robert Mueller was appointed on Wednesday as special counsel to investigate ties between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russian officials. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein just did Donald Trump a favor. It may not look like that from the perspective of the president.
