Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Alleging Facebook Liable For Supporting Terrorists

A federal judge dismissed two lawsuits that sought to hold Facebook Inc responsible for supporting terrorist groups that used their social media platform to spread their messages of violence, according to Reuters. U.S. District Judge Nicolas Garaufis in Brooklyn dismissed a $3 billion damages lawsuit by American victims of Hamas attacks, saying the federal Communications Decency Act makes Facebook immune from liability.
