Car Veers Into Crowd In NYC Times Square: 1 Dead, 22 Injured

A man appeared drunk after he drove his car the wrong way on a Times Square street and struck pedestrians after veering on the sidewalk on Thursday, leaving one teenage girl dead and 22 injured, according to The Associated Press. The driver climbed out of the vehicle but witness, Asa Lowe of Brooklyn said, “He just started running until people tackled him down. Citizens just reacted.” Richard Rojas, 26-years-old was taken into custody and was undergoing tests for alcohol and drugs, having been previously arrested twice for driving while intoxicated in 2008 and 2015, according to Police Commissioner James O’Neill. …read more
